Now this is my kind of festival. One thing you're never short of in Brighton is places to eat, and although this festival does feature the usual expensive, trendy suspects, there's also some surprises and genuine treats in store. Today's pick: More than just beans n sprouts @ Coriander, 5 Hove Manor Street, 6-11pm. Discounts on creative vegetarian dishes.

Tonight: Hot Mikado. Modern adaptation of the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta by Brighton and Hove Operatic Society, incorporating jazz, soul and gospel tunes. Gardner Arts Centre, University of Sussex @ 7.45pm, until Saturday.
